It’s been nearly a year since I’ve been to the hairdresser. That can’t be normal. My husband, for example has been at least half a dozen times to my none but then he has hair that most men envy; it grows thick and fast! In my quest for the best blonde, I’ve been around a bit(!) and dare I say it, my usually light blonde highlights having grown out, I’m almost liking the darker colour. Heaven forbid! This only occurs to me the day before I’m due to head to Martyn Maxey – a salon, frequented by many a celeb over its twenty year plus existence (Joss Stone was here last week) and now by me.
Winter Wonderland Tea at the Chesterfield Hotel, Mayfair is a must. This festive season we seem to have spent more of our time in hotels than ever before, if you take into account the fact that we haven’t left London. With a fabulous two night stay at Ham Yard behind us – we had Christmas lunch there too, we are off to a Mayfair institution for tea.

Looking for the perfect Christmas gifts for body and home? I couldn’t let Christmas go by without a nod to one of my favourite scents around. Whilst staying at the Hotel Terravina in the New Forest, our room smelt divine, I asked what the fragrance was and immediately acquired some upon my arrival home. I’ve been using it ever since.
I’m on my way to the City. Back again to my old stomping ground. This time not to work, nor to meet up for drinks with old colleagues surprisingly.
I’m here at The Private Clinic because I need to look ten years younger. 43 and nearly my birthday with two under fives. In fact, I would have said that I was ageing really, really well up until my angel Gabriel was born last October. Angel in every way bar one – he hasn’t quite mastered the art of sleeping yet. It’s slowly happening but for at least seven of the eight months it was the norm for me to wake up every 2-3 hours. That’s fine when you have a newborn – you run on the love hormones and the novelty but believe me it takes its toll when it’s relentless. Sleep deprivation really is a form of torture.

As you may have gathered, I am a bit obsessed with Sardinia of late. This may have something to do with my choosing it last year as a holiday destination and then deciding to go back again this year with our new fourth family member – baby Gabriel (no angel, believe you me – he sleeps far too little for that!).
So we’re back in Essex. One of my favourite gastronomic boutique hotel and restaurant groups – Milsom’s. The family owns and manages some gorgeous properties dotted throughout Essex and Suffolk. All are unique but each has one thing in common – high standards, outstanding food and tastefully-decorated, comfortable bedrooms.
Having just come back from two trips to very sunny places – one where the temperature hit forty three degrees, I feel well qualified to give my humble opinion on keeping safe.
We are a family of fair skinned people – bar my husband – my eldest son of four is pale like me, burns easily and doesn’t tan and my ten month old has virgin baby skin that needs top Mitch protection.
So, I finally made it to Club Med. during the most momentous week in recent British history we made our Brexit to Marrakech. I almost feel like I’ve made a joke in poor taste, such is the panic back at home.
